On 8 March 2024, PRS Healthcare wrote a new page in its history. Our company and our ultrasound probe repair laboratory, based near Lyon, welcomed Laurent Souef as its new CEO. This is an opportunity for us to take stock of our 20 years in business, but also to look to the future.
From PRS Healthcare’s birth to today
Founded in 2003, PRS Healthcare is now present in more than 20 countries. In France, the laboratory collaborates with the main university and regional inter-municipal hospital groups (CHU, CHI, CHR). It also works with the APHP, Europe’s largest hospital system, and the HCL. PRS Healthcare is the only specialist company listed on all three major public hospital purchasing centres in France (UniHA, UGAP, Resah).
PRS Healthcare currently employs almost 25 people. It is a highly structured company. It has enjoyed sustained growth and aims to achieve a turnover of more than €3.5 million by 2023. The company has been ISO 9001/13485 certified since 2013. Its success is based on a development strategy focused on customer satisfaction, quality and traceability.
Handing over
“It is with pride and enthusiasm that we hand over PRS Healthcare, which has nourished and filled our daily lives for 20 years,” say Guillaume and Géraldine Soulier, the founders. “We have put all our energy into its development. We are convinced that Laurent Souef will be able to continue this wonderful adventure while preserving the company’s values and safeguarding jobs.
Who is Laurent Souef?
A graduate of HEC – Mines de Paris, Laurent Souef is an entrepreneur, co-founder of deep-tech start-ups and managing director of digital SMEs, with more than 20 years’ experience in various management positions in strategy and business development for large semiconductor groups.
He says: “Thanks to its teams and the impetus of its founders, PRS Healthcare has been able to pioneer the circular economy market for medical devices. The company has everything it needs to reach critical mass and become a European leader in the maintenance of ultrasound probes for public and private healthcare facilities.
Promising to deliver what we promise
Laurent Souef aims to position PRS Healthcare alongside public and private healthcare organisations. The aim is to provide innovative answers to the social challenges facing the French and European healthcare systems:
- Reducing diagnostic errors and interruptions to hospital services. How will this be achieved? By offering a preventive audit of the ultrasound probe stock and the loan of probes while they are being repaired.
- Save over 40% on current maintenance contracts by prioritising the refurbishment of probes (repairing them to a performance level that meets the manufacturer’s recommendations) rather than replacing them with new ones.
- Control the carbon footprint of your healthcare facility by using a company and technical experts 100% made in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
